Tickets for the event (&#8216;Posting letters to the moon&#8217;) are \u00a39:00 and are only available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carnforthstation.co.uk\/contacts.html\" target=\"_blank\">from the Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Other performances are scheduled for Wednesday 1 March 2017 (<a href=\"http:\/\/dukes-lancaster.org\/?event=posting-letters-moon&#038;event_date=2017-03-01\">Dukes Playhouse, Lancaster<\/a>) and Saturday 4 March (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Glenridding-Public-Hall-1609331922721520\" target=\"_blank\">Glenridding Public Hall<\/a>, Glenridding).<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.survivors-mad-dog.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/posting_letters_to_the_moon.png?resize=619%2C789&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Posting letters to the moon - Lucy Fleming and Simon Williams\" width=\"619\" height=\"789\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1544\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Westmorland Gazette<\/em> carries a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewestmorlandgazette.co.uk\/NEWS\/15009066.Brief_Encounter_actress__39_s_daughter_to_appear_at_Carnforth_railway_station\/\" target=\"_blank\">short preview<\/a> of the event: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Brief Encounter actress Celia Johnson&#8217;s daughter Lucy Fleming to perform at Carnforth Station Heritage Centre in Posting Letters to the Moon<\/h3>\n<p><strong>THE daughter of actress Celia Johnson is to make a special appearance at Carnforth railway station this spring, where her mother filmed famous scenes from Brief Encounter in 1945.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Actress Lucy Fleming and her husband Simon Williams &#8211; of Upstairs, Downstairs fame &#8211; are to appear in Posting Letters to the Moon, when they will read wartime letters between Lucy&#8217;s mother and father, Peter Fleming.<\/p>\n<p>Described as touching and amusing, the letters from Celia to her husband tell of her experiences during the war, from coping with a large, isolated house full of evacuated children, to learning to drive a tractor, dealing with rationing, and all the while accepting offers of work when she could get away &#8211; for David Lean, Noel Coward, wartime propaganda films and ultimately in 1945 starring in the classic Brief Encounter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a joy to discover these letters, and I hope you will find them as funny and moving as I do,&#8221; said Lucy, whose uncle was James Bond author Ian Fleming.<\/p>\n<p>The performance is to take place at Carnforth Station Heritage Centre on Thursday, March 2, at 7.30pm.
