EVEN THE MOST dedicated Survivors enthusiast is likely to acknowledge that the series is a minority interest even amongst hardcore fans of British genre TV.
When compared to fan communities that embrace Blake’s 7 or Doctor Who, the numbers of active, enthused and engaged Survivors fans is relatively modest.
That simple fact makes it all the more pleasing to report that the new book on series one of Survivors has been so well received and has sold encouragingly well in its first few months.
All profits from sales of the book are being donated to the international medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (aka Doctors Without Borders), and the book has already generated more than £530 in profits — which is a great achievement.
What will make a huge difference to sales in coming months is spreading the word of the book’s existence to new readers — and that’s where I could use your help.
Sharing news of the book on social media, posting reviews on Amazon or Goodreads or anywhere else will help to lift the profile of the book. If your local library takes readers’ suggestions, why not recommend the book for purchase? Let your family, friends and work colleagues who might be interested know about the book! Everything and anything you could do to share the news will help.
And here’s what I’ve been able to do that I hope will help — releasing the book for sale in three additional electronic versions, which means it’s now possible to purchase the book in the following formats:
Paperback: available for purchase through online retailers, through your local bookshop — and, at a discounted price, direct through this site.
PDF eBook: available to buy through this site’s online shop, this is a digital representation of the paperback which matches the print version page-for-page, including every illustration. Presented in a two-page spread format, it is an identical electronic copy of the paperback.
Kindle eBook: available to buy through the Amazon platform, this is a text-only version of the book, optimised for reading through the Kindle app, allowing the reader full control over font-size and pagination. This version does not include the illustrations found in the paperback version — reflected in its lower cover price.
ePub eBook: this is a text-only version of the book, made available in the eBook format supported by a wide range of eBook readers (including Kobo, Calibre, Thorium Reader, Moon+ and many others). It allows the reader full control over font-size and pagination. This does not include the illustrations found in the paperback version — reflected in its lower cover price.
A reminder that this is a not-for-profit release. After production costs are met (essentially the printing costs of the paperback edition, and the distribution costs levied by all the platforms involved) all monies raised from sales of the book are being donated to the international medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (aka Doctors Without Borders).
